IMO, just saying "no other music can be good" is very closed minded. It seems ridiculous that out of the probably millions and millions of other songs, someone could not like a single one... I think almost everybody would be able to find something they like in those millions of songs. However, if I was to only hear what most other people listen to (non trance) I would agree that all other music sucks. Most people aren't going to go searching for other music though, and i can appreciate that. I'm really into music myself, and i think it's one of the greatest things in life, so i find it to be worth searching for.
Hard Trance/Trance and some house stuff is probably my favorite, but I also like some rap, classic rock, punk, old country, classical, metal, etc...
BTW: Anyone else here really dig The Streets? I can't wait for their new album, it's coming out in less than a month

It is true that it's a matter of choice, because who is to tell someone else what to and what not to listen to, but I think variety is good. Hell, even out of the music subject, new things in life are great. |
I agree that variety is good...but once again it is a matter of choice. I like various "rock" bands and some contemporary artists but there is too much other garbage on the airways nowadays for me to literally seek out new music. I own CDs by other artists outside of EDM, but right now my passion is trance and other forms of EDM. When I was younger I loved Freestyle, New Wave, Jazz, and what is now considered to be Classic Rock. I still listen to all of that. I said in my first post that I am more inclined to like songs by an artist than an artist as a whole. When I buy Cds by bands I end up disliking most of the CD. The radio stations here suck so for me to have exposure I would have to search online. I don't have the desire to seek out new artists right now because it just isn't something that I worry about. I like what I listen to. If I ever get bored or need to hear something new I will make the effort. Until then...
