SINsation Sound

The DJM 600 is only the mixer of choice for people that haven't looked around enough to realize what is available now. Definetely a mixer of the past, rather than the future. It depends if you are out to follow the footsteps of the past, or jump on board with those that are looking to the future. The Denon X1500 on the other hand with all it's fully customizable and saveable presets, and usb connectivity to download new updates and new fx as they become available is nothing short of amazing. Not to mention how sick and high quality the FX are and the endless possibilities along with the Matrix input sourcing, which is absolutely mint.
I recently had to choose between a Xone 92 and the X1500 and went with the X1500 after comparing features and after I got it I was blown away by everything on it and the applications of it all to the point where I take it with me everywhere I go now. If you are concerned with being trendy though then drain your bank account on a Xone 92 and don't worry about it's lack of features compared to some of the technology available now. It's main feature is definetely the sound, rather than having much on it. And there are plenty of big names to endorse it.

the 92 obviously

^^sweet, I looked at that DN-X1500, it looks pretty wikkid and up to date in technology. Im about to choose that one but i want to make sure that the quality of sound and quality of the mixer itself is as good as the DJM600.

I know that the crossfader is Penny + Giles which is a damn good sign, but is it built as solidly as the DJM? I really want it to last a long time before i have to buy new peices for it.

The Tascam X-9 looks great too but its not available here. I like the idea of the USB input to the X1500 for upgrading the FX. thats cool..

I don't think i like the xone:92 much...

If i can be sure that the overall build quality and even the sound quality of the DN-X1500 is as good if not better than the DJM, than i think i will get that one... so is it?

Ahh Basstrixx my friend.. to ask "I wonder if the X1500 is as solidly built and good sounding as a DJM 600" is the same as saying "Ferrari's look cool, but I wonder if it would go as fast, or look as pimp as my dodge Neon"

I could sit here and write all the things that have blown me away about the mixer that no other mixer I've seen has.. but that would take a lot of typing and I'm very hungry so just go digging! Like me, you'll buy it for being so impressed with the features.. then when you actually get it you will constantly be amazed as you learn everything else that's in there and the endless amount of applications of it. I have had mine since the first batch became available back in february.. and I am still learning new things with it and new applications for all that is on there!

i just bought the djm-600, and i dont have any regret...its all opinion, i guess you have to use all three to tell what you personally like.

if you want something built to last get the xone 92.
Ive had it for about month or so now and im soo glad i saved up for it.
Filters are great, faders are great, build is great, sound is amazing.
The djm is a good mixer but it wouldnt suprise me if pioneer announce there new 4-5 channel mixer any day now.

If you want the best at this moment, get the 92

The 92 is definetely a sweet mixer and the only other mixer I considered buying aside from the X1500.. but I thought it was definetely lacking in breakthrough technology. I think for that kind of a price tag it should have more on it and be more advanced.
For me the idea of being able to hook my mixer up and download new features and FX via usb is pretty wicked. A digital coax output is MINT for recording also which the Xone doesn't have.Being able to customize all the preset settings and save it is wicked too.. In the presets you can further customize the Xfader curve and channel curve, adjust the crossover points for each EQ knob (a sick feature), adjust the 'Q' range for each EQ knob (to make it isolate a smaller or larger range when you are using the eqs), adjust the headphone EQ settings, switch between parametric or normal EQs, activate or turn off different FX, as well as activate or deactivate a noise gate. All this is done SO easily and you can view what you are doing on the front lit display. The Matrix inputs can also allow you to assign the same input to 2 channels and then have FX assigned to one while the other is untouched for some solid applications. I can use this feature for beat juggling just by applying a specified amount of delay to the effected channel (such as 1/4 delay, 1/2 delay, 1/1 delay etc.) Not one of these features was on the Xone 92 so thats what disappointed me and didn't make me want to spend more and get less. Put simply it's changed my live dj performances in a huge way and given me TONNES of room for creativity. Denon has always been a high end audio company for decades and been a name that has yet to yet me down.
I believe they just put a new policy in effect also where if something ever happens to your gear they offer 48 hr turnaround.. meaning they pay for a courier to pick it up from you and then its rush couriered back to you.. wich is pretty amazing.

anyways.. food for thought. IF you buy a mixer don't just follow others, find out what's really in them and compare the features side by side.. and try sticking with a company that's well known for being reliable and high end rather than cheaper.

I had experience with both mixers and you cant go wrong with any one of them IMO... What type of EDM r u playing???

For progressive I would go with A&H
For trance - doesnt matter really
For techno, house, dnb - Pioneer

Iv always used a Djm 500 & 600.

But lets think about it this way, Im saving up to get the Xone:92 myself. If price isn't a difference, go with the Xone!

The mixing is amazing, you can even make your own tunes with it. That is the beauty of a 4 band, you can play 2 tunes and take out this or that and come up with your own tune.. technically.

BUT think about this also, EVERYONE uses DJM's in the booth almost. So, its familar. Kinda like tech's, everyone uses them... so everyone gets them
