I agree with that to an extent, however in this period (now I mean) technically it's an occupation (not democratic). It will become democratic, therefore in the future they can vote for whatever they want. I mean in some ways a benovlant dictator is a better solution, but in reality the old "power" and "absolute power" thing comes into effect. |
yeah of course, democracy let you choose whatever you want, but somehow i found it hard that the US will let some anti-US/pro-islam fundie/worse than saddam type to power... i'm not sure tho.. =)

of course it's possible. i find it hard tho. i mean with such powers and resources they have, they really should know. also in the summer of 2002 CIA said that they didn't thought that saddam was any threat to the world... yeah, i am really doubtful about it, they did know better. or at least they neglected all those evidence showing something they didn't want.

The reson I say that it is easy to be critical of the way it's been handled but any critisim must be tempered with the knowlage that it is a hell of a difficult problem. Obviously that doesn't mean there is no reson to critise but also there is no reson not to congratulate. The troops have done some amazing work there, and constantly distracting from that is folly. |
i was also pro war before. but i have to say that my knowledges about arab culture/intelligence at that time was too little. and those knowledges should they have had, otherwise i would really lose even more fait in them...
edit: hmm after reading this once more, i realize i really have a problem expressing mysef... hope you did understand the arguments anyway
