I've actually been a bit suprised by the reaction to trance recently in my hometown. A buddy and I recently started playing a couple of regular timeslots at one of the local afterhours club, and there has been a really good level of interest in trance.
Basically trance used to be extremely popular in the past here locally (maybe 2-4 years ago or so), but then it pretty much died, barely got played out at all, aside from the odd headliner coming through.
The crowds are somewhat picky in their taste for trance though. My buddy plays later in the morning, so he can get away with playing lots of classic, more chilled stuff, while for my 4:00 a.m. timeslot people seem to mostly be wanting harder stuff (i.e. Ferry Corsten - Rock Your Body Rock, Tiesto - Traffic, Joop - Sonsuz, Candee Jay - If I Were You, etc.).
