My coordination and attention span isn't all that great. But there are people who have dyslexia that can read well. How? By practice. I've been concing in TFC for about 2 years now, and it's helped out in my coordination. But that's just for throwing around concs. I suck in real life. But practice will help in DJing. I'm going to work my ass off like Rod said, and get some TT's to start practicing. I'll tell my mom that they'll help keep me off the computer and will help my coordination. I mean, they will... won't they?
EDIT: And also, you're saying that someone with dysgraphia or dyslexia wouldn't ever be able to write or read well. You're wrong. I've had to work hard to achieve things others can achieve easily. My art skill use to be that of a 3rd or 4th grader. With practice, I'm slowly raising it. I'm not saying that I'm going to be great at beatmatching within a couple of days, months, or even years after getting my TT's. But practice will make me better at it. If you try to discourage me, then I'll just try harder to prove you wrong.[/motivational talk]

K-Badger, have you read the first paragraph of the link you posted?
Don't you think you should work on your social skills/behaviour first? I mean, unless you live in a place where trance is extremely popular, you ain't gonna make any improvement on this (in fact, you're gonna alienate yourself more and more, it seems, as you'll slowly become more and more different from the other kids).
That's what it seems. |
By playing some DI.FM at school during art class, most of the kids liked it. And this was cheese, people. I'll get some high quality trance, and try to have the school let me spin a mix of electronica and hip hop at a dance. That way, they'll get a mix of good music, and some of it will be something new.

Its a thought, but cheese is usually what most people will like. Trust me, most of them wont like real trance - there might be a few kids that are interested, but most of them would want to hear stuff like Agnelli & Nelson - Nothing, the more vocals, the better.

You still should join the soccer team or something similar. Even if you want to do something related to music, you shouldn't choose something so lonely as DJ'ing/producing music (whereas you can DJ solo and produce everything yourself, in a rock band, for example, you would need to deal every minute with other people in order to play something). |
Also, being in a band will help you interact with other people and eventually you will have to get on stage and perform. You know what, fuck band, do ANYTHING that involves team work, not just soccer, but ANY sport. Im sorry, but I think with the 'condition' you might have and your age, DJing might not be in your best interest... at the age of 13 and having a social problem THE LAST thing you should do is lock yourself in your room being a bedroom DJ.
Atleast the majority of us that do spend alot of time DJing, are old enough to go out and enjoy ourselves and clubs and what not. But you cant even do that, your 5 years away, which is a while to be locked up.
