So do you people order them like off the net or something? you mostly buy brand new gear??? or order them off auctions and stuff like that....i am probably gettin my dex soon, but by the sound of ordering + the damage that can be done through ordering i think i will pick them up myself.....

Vinyl I ordered online, but the tables and mixer I actually went to a store to pick'em up. The place I went to didn't keep them in stock so I have to wait 4 days (because of the weekend).

I went to a local music center to see if they sold the stuff. They keep all there mixers and TT's at a warehouse about 30mins from me. They said that I can have my gear within a day of buying it..... best thing is that they also match any price I can find including websites.

Here in Canada, used are really hard to come buy. If people start selling used ones they disappear fast. Secondly, they're not THAT much cheaper. I've seen 10 year old tables going for $500-600 and people pay it. So they hold their value really well, I had no problems putting the money up front for them. They'll last for years, and hold there value. Two things you can't say for many other hobbies!
