I dunno. He needs to release something 'non-progressive' so i can see how he has moved on. Man he's contradicting himself.

exactly. and hes not referring to the trance scene, 4yrs ago he played progressive house and trance @ twilo.. never 138+ bpm melodic/euohoric trance.. the most melodic trance him or diggers would play @ twilo was Xpander back in 99..

I don't think you have a single clue as to what you are talking about. His tracklists back in the day, while not chock full of anthem trance , had some big tunes...Greece 2000, Cafe Del Mar etc...
One more thing Tek...no offense, but your comments on classification in this thread are very oversimplified. Involver was 90% prog, 138 bpm euphoric trance blah blah blah...the thing that makes Sasha so great is the fact that he doesn't, or can't be cateogrized into a single, monotonic genre.

Anyways, on the topic of this topic, he's just stating how he feels...he's moving on.

good for you.. youre a sasha fan yes hes a great dj and producer but i was there at twilo in many s&d nights '4 years ago'and ive never heard him drop cafe del mar and greece 2000.. youre referring to his 'tracklists'.. i was there physically for the journey.. he was playing greece 2000 and cafe del mar way before 2000.. and yes involver is heavily filled with prog and prog breaks go listen to it again.. and yes sasha never played 138+ bpm 'euphoric trance'.. back in 98 maybe but not no 4yrs ago at twilo.. he might not be categorized as one genre cuz he plays many genres in his sets but he is and was known for playing and making tracks that are proggy and trancey and still do. thats a fact. and thats what i found funny about his prog bashing quote.

No He's Not it was the Prog scene he is on about

Here is the article

quote:
“In about three weeks time I’m ditching vinyl and CDs to go out on the road using my computer and that’s going to allow me to mix anything with everything,” said Sasha.

“I’m now actively distancing myself from that progressive sound that was previously attached to me, because it really doesn’t hold much interest for me anymore,” he revealed.

“I think it’s time to move on, maybe I’m looking back to ‘85 instead of ’95.” He added.

Superstar DJ dismisses record rage net rumours
10/06/2004

DJ Sasha dismissed reports on the web this week that he been angry when a record he ripped off the decks struck a girl in the face, telling Skrufff that he’d actually been larking around, when a dirty record got stuck in its groove.

“I was two thirds into my set, the place was going off and I was enjoying myself when the record started jumping,” said Sasha.

“By the third time it happened, the whole crowd was cheering and I ripped it off and threw it up in the air in an overly theatrical way, certainly not in frustration. I was just being a bit silly and theatrical and I guess the record boomeranged onto something and hit this poor girl on the head.”

The incident happened at Cardiff’s Time Flies event, and effectively finished the party there and then, though Sasha was also keen to refute allegations that he’d been subsequently manhandled from the decks by bouncers.

“Her boyfriend grabbed hold of me, thinking that I’d thrown a glass at her or something and took me backstage and I went into this room with him to see this poor girl there with blood all over her face,” he continued.

“After I’d seen that I was freaked out, I didn’t know how the girl was and I didn’t want her to think I didn’t give a fuck (care-slang ed), by going back on and playing. I was flipped out by the whole thing.”

Sasha said he’s since been in contact with the girl who’s now fully recovered and will be entertaining her and her boyfriend at his next Fabric gig in July. Coincidentally he’ll also have ditched using vinyl altogether by then as well as much of the music he used to play, he said.
