Do you guys agree with me when i say....the hardest thing i found when i started mixing was finding out which record was goin faster and or which was the one slower. Because i started a new track to mix into and i don't know whether to speed it up onn the pitch or slow it down, but i suppose i wasn't counting the beats, which i now realise...Do you agree with me that, that is the hardest thing to learn?

And also to Dj Liquid, and anyone, do you think kill switches (the things that cut out bass, treble, mid frequencies) are essential on a mixer?

My mixer is the worst mixer ever to be constructed: 2 channels, no eq's, no gain control, pathetic headphone amp, diabolical sound quality, useless cue mix, and a crossfader that bleeds as if you cut its jugular. And I can't afford a new one.

So, this mixer forces me to use the line faders, which I think is a good practice to get into anyway, as you have more control over the curve than if you were using the x-fader.

But, on the occasions when I have used a decent mixer, I do like to use as many controls as possible (excluding the x-fader), like eq's, cue/pgm mix, gain, and whatever else the mixer might have. Makes the mix more interesting and sounds a lot better too if you eq out the bass etc.
