Ok, sorry to bump this old post back up, but this is what i;m currently planning to buy.
1 vestax pcv275
2 denon dns3000
1 korg kaoss 2
1 technics 1200 phones
Are any of these poor choices, or would there be anything else id be better off spending the money on (dj equipment wize of course) Also as far as speaker systems go, should i be able to hook the equipment up directly to my stereo, or is an amp needed?
I know that this equipment gets outdated, and i know it would be pretty hard for anyone to accuratly say, but approx. how long would it be until i have to start replacing this stuff. (i know it really depends on how quickly i progress.)
thanks. |
This is a solid buy and you should be very happy with your purchase. The 275 has features that make it well worth the extra money over the 180 or anything below it. The channel LEDs are so very important if you want to mix. Part of mixing is beatmatching and phrasematching. Another just as important part is volume matching. Volume matching is known as gain control/structure. It is vital that you have this function on your mixer. You CAN go and buy separate LEDs for your mixer, but it is much better to have it be part of you mixer.
The tech cans will be a solid buy. I've had the Sony V700Djs and the dogs bit through the cord, so they were gone. Then I had Senn H280s and I didn't like the fit or the sound for DJing purposes (I prefer bass exaggeration). The Pioneer HDJ-1000s are what I have now and after about a year of my cord weighing down on the plug for just over a year, I've had to replace it, but that is the whole thing--the cord IS replaceable and so are the earpieces and the headband. These are the only parts that you should ever have to replace. The speakers will stand the test of time. At least look for a pair of phones that let you replace the cord if nothing else.
