I have a feeling a lot of the crispiness of their basslines comes from Logic's rendering engine, but it's just speculation.

Although logic's engine is a bit different from other sequencers, I doubt it's that. They don't use any special magic hardware synths to make thier basses, when you hear an A&B bass the virus, nordlead, es2 , etc.. come to mind. But they can be made on most any synth with some programming knowledge. Bass is very tricky, and probably the most difficult part of producing a track for me anyways. I think it's just alot of trial and error, playing with those lower frequencies, and gettin the kick and bass to work together.
