picked up Kate (good to finally meet u formally, although we have partied together before) and chris

drive down to montreal was fun (as they always are) and the anticipation of the night ahead kept us excited

got to montreal at 1 am.....parked and then met up with Mazen, Malek, Raul and one other TA (sorry man....i dont think i said Hi to you)....and spent the next 2 hours at St. Suplice chilling......it was good to finally talk to Mazen in person......what a F'ing nice guy....and talking to Raul is always a pleasure....too bad we are not gonna see u much once u move to North Carolina!

Big props to FunkenLouis for showing up and making my night with his generosity.....you are the Funken MAN!!!!!!!
(to the Aria staff.......give him a raise)

i skipped out on the vodka drinking in Raul's car and decided instead to head out to Aria along with CHris......got in by 3 am

Brad copeland was doing a great job of getting the party started with his mixing and track selection......some really amazing tunes in there.....

Aria's renovations are quite something to behold....i have not been there since Ferry.....so i love the changes they have made......especially closing off the one side of the main stage......that has worked to reduce the traffic moving behind the booth......and the nice couches on the side are a nice touch also.....although they cut into the dancing space a bit. Plus the screen above teh DJ is perfectly positioned now......

only thing i hate is that damned smoke machine.....it kept making me choke.....why does Aria insist on using it.....the cigarrete smoke alone from all the people toking up is enough to keep the lights reflecting....more smoke is not needed IMO

Sander came on at 5:15 am.....and proceeded to start off with 15 to 20 min of boring music (compared to what Copeland had ended off with).....but by 5:35 he began to pick up the pace.....throwing down 3 latin style prog house tracks back to back....

his set was good.....it varied from average to amazing.....he would play one or 2 slower tracks before throwing down 5 or 6 amazing ones in a row...i didn't mind so much as it allowed time to recover from dancing

the set really became a thing of beauty by 8 am.....at which point the melodies and basslines were kicking...

i give his set an 8.5/10......only because his set played at at Stereo Jan 2003 was a perfect 10/10

(but last night as a whole was 10/10 due to good times, good friends, good music, good sound system, good party)...I had a blast....and i want everyone to know it

we left Aria at 10:15 am......and Sander was still working the dance floor.....can't wait for him to come again

p.s. Anyone know what time his set ended??????

the set ended at about 10:45
was one crazy night thats foresure
does anybody know what those latin songs were?

My review:

Drive up was fun, shawarmas as soon as I exited the car. Proceeded to freeze our asses off at St. Sulplice, left, went inside to a warmer venue. Did shots with Chris, his first! Wne to Rauls car, I was the bartender, and really the rest of the night is a blur, I had 212 pics when I got home I don't remember a single track he played, I don't remember one mix, ecxept one, where he was a little off, I don't remember the girls, just that there weren't alot of hot ones like Malek always promises. And apparently I danced like a freak all night!
