emander, it's a boycott of companies and products that support the zionist occupation of Palestine. The same kind of thing (i.e. international boycott) was exercised against the racist apartheid government in South Africa. Apartheid has since ended. Groups supporting this boycott include trade unions, christian groups, human rights groups, etc.
Applicable also are a lot of western companies. The aim is to drain financial, political, moral and military resources from Israel. There's quite a list, including Coca-Cola, Marks and Spencers, Intel, etc. If you just type it into a search engine you'll see them all.

haha that sounds like referendums in Quebec

That sounds like referenda in any country that has them to be perfectly frank. Since they’re not legally binding (in any country that I’m aware of) to make the government that holds them follow their outcome then its the government’s will to do with the result what they like.

So much for Direct Democracy.

Drain financial, political, moral and military resources from Israel? You seem to pretty biased here. Would you wish them all dead as well?

Emander, that statement of yours is rubbish, and you know it is. The aim of any boycott, be it over companies trading practices or a public service is to achieve what Donegalredneck stated.

And just how does holding a position on the Israel/Palestine issue make you biased?

Really, take your stupid comments elsewhere.

Im all for UK being part of Europe. I just think a large part of Brits dont see themselves as Europeans, they see it as Britain and Europe hence not wanting to be part of them. Plus we're very fond of our Pound
