I don't think it was that bad of a game. Sure it wasn't as deep as Gran Turismo, but it was fun and the drift & drag modes brought a fairly new idea to the table.

Basicly GTA is re-using it main priciple over and over. It's only the theme that changes and especialy the tongue-in-cheek referals to other games, politics, gameshows, movies and songs or music styles.
That's why the concept of GTA can be (ab-)used for a very long time.

GTA is part game, part parody, part some statement against somethings. Games like Driv3r just fail to deliver the last 2. Rockstar is the only (or at least one of the few) that can make something completely and utterly slapstick without making it rediculous.
Other game developers know this and they kinda hate Rockstar for doing it the first.

Driv3r it's main weakness is it's difference to GTA, it's a bit more serious and realistic. If GTA:SA turns out to have lost its humor...then we can say goodbye old friend, but looking at rockstar, I know they have still some tricks up their sleeves.

Driv3r has also been postphoned waaaaaaaaaay to long, so it needs to be hyped in order to get sold. Because with tons of driving games on the horizon and the near cult-phenomenon of GTA Driv3r has some pretty tough competition.

yeah i agree. especially the humor part. rockstar mixes the humor/seriousness well. and if the game still offers a player to kill thousands of people then someone will buy it hehe

first of all i think D3 sux donkey balls, the most important part imo driving cars is so bad, cars are fuckin hard to control and somehow they lost the touch d1 and d2 had

imo a 5.4 is overrated
