Grow up cryogenic. You insulted me, and I'm not even posting in this thread. Don't you have a bridge to go stand under?

The only troll around here is you bud.

Hi dance123,

I dont think you need those patches. As far as i know you can achieve great sound with VSTi. Here is something i made with Vstation+Atmosphere. Sounds abit thin right now but with some extra layering this could be fucking massive imo.

Rank 1 -Airwave (pad)

Hope this helps,

Antonio.

You know, if you could afford your soft synths ...

... a second hand 8000/8080 isn't that much more ...

you are most definitely correct i love software (i don't even own a hardware synth [besides a SID chip that i haven't built a synth with yet :P haha]). It is totally possible to get a HUGE sound with free vst's and effects. The thing is with software.. a lot of the time it doesn't sound that HUGE coming 'straight out of the box' so to speak. what this means (like antonio was saying) is that more layers and effects / eq'ing are necessary to acheive that PHAT sound you are after (in general) when you are working with software.

with a wonderful synth like the 8080, it sounds bad ass 'straight out of the box' so to speak and doesnt need lots of extra processing.

now.. one is not better than the other.. it's just about how you use your tools (not what tools you have.. although some tools are easier / take less time than others)

in my perfect studio i would have lots of hardware and software running together because i like lots of different types of tools at my disposal.. but that's just me (and you can't download an 8080 or a virus B [yet ])
