I doubt that we'll see a world war any time soon - there's just too much stability between large nations anymore, too much economic fragility in the balance, there won't be any such thing as a 'world war' in the traditional sense for a long while. If the world were to come under attack, in terms of nuclear or biological threats, I doubt that a major country would be the catalyst for such an attempt - it would be more likely that a small (relatively speaking) terrorist faction would be responsible.

I voted 'yes' though - the chance that there will NEVER be another world war is impossible. War has been a major attribute for humanity for as long we can remember, and the day we lose that is (sadly) the day we are no longer creatures capable of great extremes - we lose the love as well. War is inevitable, just as much as peace is irrefutably the goal of any such creature that denies its own proclivity towards hate and fear.

I voted, yes there will be a third world war.

Alot of people think this will happen between as a result of Israel/Palesitne, but I disagree. I think the catalyst pushing us towards war will be the oft overlooked Pakistan/India conflict.

I disagree... it's not impossible, it's just remotely possible.

I find these "world wars" to be extremely European-centered though. Except for Japan and USA, the wars were between European countries and/or European colonies. We sent troops to Italy but only because the United States blackmailed us, full stop, how important were we in the war anyway?
