Usually when i'm doing something with my comp i listen to some sets.. Only when i'm checking out how tracks sound i listen to them separately.. It's just too boring to listen to 8-9 minutes long tracks otherwise..

Typically live sets or mix albums. If I hear a really great track on the live set I'll go try and find the single so I have it, but typically just listen to sets. What I like best is how the tracks are mixed as well as how a selection of tracks are used together to create an overall mood for the set. You just don't get that listening to a bunch of singles.

It's gotta be mixed. That's what our music was made for so we should enjoy it the way it was meant to be enjoyed!

this would be why I only play SETS not single tracks

everybody knows all EDM was made to be heard mixed together, not just individual songs like crappy mainstream music

no preference for me.
obviously though, when mixed properly, a track gains energy from a set...

Livesets, you get to hear how a DJ actually plays to a crowd without having the studio to make things perfect.

I prefer mixed. I agree that when tracks are mixed it brings so much nrg to the songs.

You read my mind. Why suffer through the whole mix just to listen to a few jewels when you can compile your favourite playlist from singles and enjoy? I mean just because a DJ has a god-like status among his fans doesn't automatically mean that all of his sets are golden. Yes, there are some amazing sets out there, but I prefer versatility of playlists. For instance, what exactly do you do when in a certain set you like a song so much you just want to rewind to listen to it again? Do you drag your seeking bar back trying to estimate where the song began thus disrupting the whole flow, or do you keep pressing the rewind button on a cd player for 30 seconds?
