A record that doesn't have a constant tempo looks like a bitch to beatmatch to me!

The words "wrong", "end" and "stick" come to mind, separated nicely by "of the".

He doesn't mean one song that gets faster as it progresses, he means play songs that have a faster tempo when they are set to pitch 0%, and gradually increase the BPM by increasing the pitch of the song while it is playing (then betmatching after you have done this, obviously).

In my black Technics SL-1210MK2 I turned the inside 'general' pitch control up to the limit turning clockwise. Then it acts from -6% up to +16%, more or less, one of them runs a bit quicker
The sensibility changes but if you're used to this one, I can't see why having -+8% would be difficult, the difficult is with the changed one
The pitch then is not linear, it acts as a exponential function, the pitch on the high speeds is much more sensible than on the lower ones.
Also, a new zero appears near the -1%, but the middle one still remains (the green light). So there are few speeds that the turntable can't reach, but that's no problem, 'cos U can speed up or down a bit the other table.
I know many clubs here in Catalonia which have their pitch changed (Scorpia, Xquè, Chasis, ...) they all play what we call 'Makineta' it's a bit like hard-trance, that stuff on Tunnel Trance Force, and also a bit of Trance, although many people here call it 'Progressive' to everything
With the correct screwdriver it's 30 seconds or less to change the general pitch, so I thinks it's possible that some dj's do it in the middle of a set if the tables are 'virgin'
