Hello!

Anybody who uses the basic Audigy 2 (or Audigy 1) that has only an ASIO 1 driver I believe can tell me how low latency you can get without problems when using 48khz samplerate in Cubase SX (or similar program). Can you go below 10ms at 48khz? I believe the ZS cards can have 2ms at 48khz, but what about the original Audigy 2 cards at 48khz?! I would use it in a 3Ghz PC in case that matters. Thanks for the info!!

i could play pro53 in standalone with 5.33 msec latency. but cubase, no friggin' way. i work in 22 secs all the time, since my projects include 6-9 synths, and at least one of them is zeta
if you didn't buy a soundcard yet, go to emu.com and consider emu 0404 - i mean, an emu card for 100 quid! it looks like a steal from here.

Hello!

22ms? That seems high? Which Audigy do you have? Did you set samplerate at 48khz in Cubase? Isn't it possible to get below 10ms with this card playing multiple VSTi's? Which driver do you use? Did you try the SB driver with the latest updates from there site? Let me know if you can get it better then 22ms in Cubase (don't forget to set at 48khz)!

By the way, if you go below 22ms in your Cubase project, which problems occur then?

Generally, if you have an audio card and you set the latency lower then it can handle, how will you normally notice this?! Do you get distortion, CPU overload,.. ? What are the signs that indicate you have reached the lowest latency for your card?! Anybody can please list those..

not really, but i must have the best one! HAHAHAHAHA!

the cheapest one available on this planet, audigy 1 bulk.

of course, asio drivers do not work in anything else than 48k since the chip itself is locked to 48 k. don't tell me you didn't know that.

i think it is possible, but not like 5,6 of them. and especially not if yeta is one of them.

kx drivers, revision 3524.

hell no. tried them when i bought the card, and it was crap. nobody i know uses official drivers for making music.

i had some arrangements with pro53, two instances of synth1 and battery. along there were ohmboys delay, ambience reverb and two kjaerhus compressors, and tls limiter. all was running at 11 ms, and it was pretty ok. and then i added albino and cubase said no way.

depends on the synths. the problems which occur is that the are pops and clicks in the sound, when you try to open a mixer when the song plays, there are even more pops and clicks, and the mixer open up channel per channel, and it takes him 15-20 seconds to open. play/stop buttons react with 5-10 second delay, etc. when not playing, the cpu usage is about 70%, and when playing, it goes to 100% just like that.
