Which Audigy do you have?
|
the cheapest one available on this planet, audigy 1 bulk.

Did you set samplerate at 48khz in Cubase?
|
of course, asio drivers do not work in anything else than 48k since the chip itself is locked to 48 k. don't tell me you didn't know that.

Isn't it possible to get below 10ms with this card playing multiple
VSTi's?
|
i think it is possible, but not like 5,6 of them. and especially not if yeta is one of them.

Which driver do you use?
|
kx drivers, revision 3524.

Did you try the SB driver with the latest updates from there site?
|
hell no. tried them when i bought the card, and it was crap. nobody i know uses official drivers for making music.

Let me know if you can get it better then 22ms in Cubase (don't forget to set at 48khz)!
|
i had some arrangements with pro53, two instances of synth1 and battery. along there were ohmboys delay, ambience reverb and two kjaerhus compressors, and tls limiter. all was running at 11 ms, and it was pretty ok. and then i added albino and cubase said no way.

By the way, if you go below 22ms in your Cubase project, which problems occur then?
|
depends on the synths. the problems which occur is that the are pops and clicks in the sound, when you try to open a mixer when the song plays, there are even more pops and clicks, and the mixer open up channel per channel, and it takes him 15-20 seconds to open. play/stop buttons react with 5-10 second delay, etc. when not playing, the cpu usage is about 70%, and when playing, it goes to 100% just like that.

Generally, if you have an audio card and you set the latency lower then it can handle, how will you normally notice this?! Do you get distortion, CPU overload,.. ? What are the signs that indicate you have reached the lowest latency for your card?! Anybody can please list those.. |
look above. and don't worry, you'll hear it for sure
