the problem with any passive off-side is that the defenders must still cover the attackers in these positions. They cannot simply ignore them and hope to get goal-side should play change to that direction after other have played them onside, or in case the officials make an error. Thus it is often the case that "passive" offside is having a very active influence on proceedings.
Get the lazy strikers to run back on-side like proper footballers.

Yeah he does. I'd say the rule is very fair the way it is. No problems. Think about it, it'd never do to have a player just standing down there. Oh well.

Get rid of the offsides rule altogether - or make sure that linesmen don't make so many mistakes. It's getting ridiculous.

that would completely change football tactically. you'd have dummy forwards sitting there in the area waiting for the ball. the offside rule is one of the best ever invented in sport, apart for the tendency to make mistakes cause it's very difficult to judge.

I was kidding, of course. The rule is fine

However, nothing pisses me off more than when a linesman ruins the game by making the wrong decisions, which is happening too often.
