Like Spang said, Leama & Moor is a good place to start. I think of tunes like this as progressive trance.

Li Kwan - Point Zero (Leama & Moor Mix)
2 Players - Signet (Leama & Moor Mix)
Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) (Leama & Moor Mix)
Peter Martin - Perfect Wave
Vadim Zhukov - Exit
Probspot - Foreplay
Ozgur Can - Irony
Michael Burns - The Ambience
Whirpool - Under The Sun (Markus Schulz Mix)
Mark Ottens - Mushroom Therapy

Get some Global Underground compilations from Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman....The list could go on for ages.. Those are mostly quality progressive trance/house..

"progressive trance" is a very, very broad name used to describe pretty much everything that goes from M.I.K.E.'s tunes to Subsky's

on one side, you got the bonzai progressive trance with M.I.K.E., L-Vee & co making stuff above the 135 bpm rank, eventually a blend of uplifting with progressive

on another side, you got the so-popular nowadays blend of progressive house/progressive trance/progressive breaks that people just call "progressive" for convenience. stuff like Subsky, Ozgur Can, Yunus, all of the prog bandwagon that eventually gets discussions about whether it's trance or house. if it has a different beat than 4/4, then it immediately becomes "breaks"

What confuses me the most is the super repetitive really old trance songs, these seem to be more "progressive" then any of the stuff out now, they change sooo gradually and such, but they are not considered progressive at all, they are just called trance. Many people find the looping nature of prog to be more entrancing then the massive supersaw tunes that are being called trance now. In general "progressive" seems to mean repetitive and gradualy changing, but if the repeating and changing is done in a certain style then prog heads don't claim it and it gets called trance instead.

flemming is prog now? I thought he was like, a bit of everything and kinda on the psy side, sigh. Sometimes I think the prog ppl just claim which ever music they think sounds good.

How about instead of pointing out artists, describe the difference in the sounds of the music?

I guess there is no concrete answer, it doenst really matter anyway.

Yeah Flemming spins some psy here and there. However, he did prog in his career, and some of it is still good to listen. Even if you listen to his more recent remixes, Mahadeva remix for example... still has a proggy feel to it.
