Same here. I've always loved trance. BUT even before these tune were hot people thought i was crazy for playing this genre of music. I don't care i've always loved it and i always will.
Thanks for the response. I always love to hear peoples opinions. That way I learn more about how i should format my mixes.

Ok.. not to be too insulting here BUT
what the hell?!
How can you guys call the songs "Classic Trance". Not only does it hardly have any elements from classic trance but the songs are just awful (I am talking about the orginals, not santana's remixes.. I wont comment on them). I myself am not a big fan of classic trance as it takes way to long to build up.. but I would never try to pass some cheesy epic trance off as classic.
If you want good trance you should look towards the Psy-Goa end of things.. thats about the only genre left in trance that shows some promise. Hell thats even where sasha gets all of his songs that he remixes.

Carte Blanche is beyond "classic trance". That song is from 1999 and it is still around today. It could blow up any venue with energy back then and it still does today. Everyone has their own opinion so you are definitely entitled to yours. However, how can you say that most of this music isn't classic? Define classic then. To each their own. Carte Blanche is NOT cheesy. For An Angel is NOT cheesy. Greece is NOT cheesy. Madagascar is NOT cheesy. Cafe del Mar is NOT cheesy. Flaming June is NOT cheesy. Adaigo For Strings is NOT cheesy. ETC.
Post your same comments in the music discussion forum. I would be interested to see the responses.

Classic trance has very long and complicated buildups which is used to try and throw you into a trance while listening to it. It is not something that you would really play on the dance floor (although the derivatives of it are because they have been sped up to make it easier to sell).
Classic trance goes back much further then 99.. it goes all the way back to the mid-late 80s.
I will go through each track you just posted and tell you exactly why it falls into epic/pop trance.

Hmmm...yes...I know that classic trance goes back before 1999. Did I say that was when it began? I simply stated when Carte Blanche came out...which just so happens to have been in 1999. That song is classic and I stand by my statement. You don't like it...don't listen to it. It won't "insult" any of us or hurt any of our feelings. Trust me, you're not going to change my opinions or views anymore than I am going to change yours. You said that all of those songs are awful. So I challenge you once again to post that same statement in the music discussion forum so we can see the responses.
Matthew's response to you was no worse than what you initially implicated with your first post.

I've been spinning now for more than 20 years. One thing i've learned is that not everyone enjoys the same styles of music. BUT I've found that here at TA I can express the music I love to play and listen to without all the drama that you get out of some of the other forums. So if you don't like it... Sorry! There a re plenty of ppl here that enjoy my mixes.
