Het weer was fantastisch. het was erg zwoel 's nachts dus geen t-shirt nodig. De enige regenbui van betekenis was voor de demonstratie op zaterdag. De zon straalde vol tijdens elke party overdag, tijdens de LFA heeft het heel effe gedruppeld.

Marusha heeft nog steeds haar wekelijke radioshow, maar draait niet veel meer. Qua uiterlijk is ze erg veranderd, ik herkende haar zelfs niet *schaam*

Charly en Theo samen zien is bijzonder omdat ze al jaren hun eigen ding doen. Volgens mij was dit speciaal vanwege de Loveparade back to the roots. Geen slecht woord over hun dus.

Mijn budget van 350 euro heb ik niet kunnen houden. Boeit eigenlijk niet, 450 euro voor zo'n weekend is echt de moeite waard geweest

Het hotel was 140 euro en de benzine ook. De rest is drank, eten, taxi + OV e.d.

Het kan overigens goedkoper als je met de trein gaat en 4 man in een 2 persoons hotelkamer propt. Kan makkelijk

Bezopen als een stel zwervers hebben we in het Volkspark gelopen (donker brrr) en daarna nog effe de hotel lobby onveilig gemaakt tot een uurtje of 3 's nachts. Heerlijk begin van het weekend. Vrijdag. Ik moet zowel Edd (schattige Australische) en Mikey Mike van het vliegveld halen om 8 uur 's morgens. Lekker met je koppijn in de auto. Nog leuker is dat ze op verschillende vliegvelgen laden, 30km uit elkaar. Wonderwel kwam alles prima uit en kon ik ook Swisstoni (Engelse) meenemen plus de bagage van de 2 UKTA's die niet meer in de auto pasten. De hele middag hebben we ons verveeld. Dus gingen we maar drinken, en met een benzinestation onder je hotel gaat dat prima. Halve liter bier 1 euro, wie kan dat weerstaan? Loveradio met dr.Motte, Westbam en PvD zou om 18:00hr beginnen. Het vind in Volkspark Friedrichshain plaats, 500m van het hotel. Westbam en PvD waren lekker bezig, de zon kwam door de wolken heen en tegen half 8 was het gezellig druk. Prima feestje! Love from Above begon een uur later, dus snel de camera opladen en in de U-Bahn. Het was minder druk dan vorig jaar gelukkig, wel nog steeds behoorlijk warm in de Columbiahalle. De soundsystem stond weer eens veel te hard, dat is Duitse gewoonte. Helaas niet altijd zuiver dus oordoppen verplicht. Tiesto speelde na de eerste set van PvD voornamelijk classics en de bekende eigen nummers. Het publiek vond het allemaal prachtig. De global TA meetup op LFA werd goed bezocht. Zo'n 60 a 70 TA's waren er op het feest waarvan er zeker 40 op de groepsfoto belanden. Overal waar je kwam liep je wel weer een bekend gezicht tegen het lijf. Dat is echt een leuke ervaring! Nu-Nrg viel in de smaak, net als de laatste set van PvD (04:00-10:00). Naast hardere tracks & classics speelde hij overigens ook nog ambient. Dat was echter om 8 uur 's morgens, toen zat ik in de metro naar het hotel. De benen konden echt niet meer. Tijdens de rit was het aardig lastig mijn lach in te houden: 2 oude Britten waren met een raver aan het praten, waarbij het stel vroeg of het ok is om sex tijdens Lovebase te hebben. Na een bevestigend antwoord vertelde de Duitser dat ie 750 euro coke had weggesnoven op LFA. Volgens mij kon dat wel kloppen, zijn gezicht zag eruit of het elk moment kon smelten. Zaterdag. Na 2 uur slapen (het ging gewoon niet) ging de hele groep richting Ku'Damm voor de demonstratie. Zo'n 5000 man stonden om 17:00 bij de 6 trucks (lees: 5 bestelwagens+open bus) te wachten. De regen kwam gelijk met bakken uit de hemel, en velen hadden slechts een shirt aan. Dan maar warm dansen. Toen eenmaal de trucks reden stopte de regen en kwam wonderbaarlijk de zon tevoorschijn. Wat een symboliek! De stoet reed langs Chanel, Hugo Boss en andere dure winkels. De mensen op straat keken hun ogen uit. Wat een stel idioten, wat een herrie! Maar dat veranderde al snel: zodra we bij de Gedachtniskirche kwamen zag je oma's en touristen met brede glimlach alles aandachtig bekijken en genieten van het moment. 15000 ravers waren er nu zeker, de demonstratie naderde zijn hoogtepunt. Dankzij de heerlijke vodka-lemon van Piotro verdween de kramp in de benen als sneeuw voor de zon. De trucks reden niet al te hard en stopten gelukkig elke 500m eventjes. Na het keerpunt kreeg PvD letterlijk 2500 handen de lucht in toen For an Angel door de luidsprekers galmde. Iedereen zat er al op te wachten: de ultieme Loveparade track! Op het eind stopten alle trucks bij de Gedachtniskirche, net als in 1995 (daarna was elke LP wegens plaatsgebrek in de Tiergarten). Een uur lang heeft iedereen lekker lopen hossen en springen. De speech van dr.Motte was helaas slecht te horen. Bij het einde (22:00hr) ging iedereen z'n eigen weg want er waren genoeg parties. Met een bont gezelschap (Zwitser, Duitser, Engelse, Aussie, Amerikaan, ik) besloten we Lovebase te bezoeken: 12 area's waaronder techno en hardstyle. De Kulturbrauerei is een prachtige locatie: oud industriecomplex uit de 19e eeuw. We waren allemaal erg moe dus lang blijven zat er niet in. Steve Murano speelde in de main hal (300-500 man max), twee lasers maakten het af. We hadden het de hele tijd over Cheezebase, vanwege de muziek die er gedraaid werd. Kwaliteit gemixed met hitjes, desalnietemin echt prima te doen. Toen we de hardstyle area in kwamen (hittegolf 55 graden) waren Charly en Theo bezig: Wonderfull days... Kippenvel alom, zeker toen het publiek de twee met een uitgebreid 'Holland holland' bedankten. Die gasten waren goed bezig, het leek net 1995! De technoroom was net lange gang met strobe. Echt underground gevoel. Net als de club/trance hal overigens, waar max 50 man in passen. De tijd vloog hier voorbij, omdat het gewoon zo anders is dan je gewent bent in NL. Voor we weggingen nog effe lopen hakken op Deepack (Get this MF). Bezweet en al de taxi in en chillen in het hotel. Met liters korn (30% alcohol) in ons systeem viel de ene roddel na de andere, maar ook serieuze gesprekken over de oorlog en dergelijke. In lange tijd niet zo dronken geweest. De TA uit Atlanta bleek zo'n type wolf in schaapskleren te zijn. Je leert mensen echt kennen met een borrel op. Met andere woorden: superavond en nacht gehad. Zondag eindelijk uitslapen! Love Weekend start om 16:00 (althans dan is het Westbam, PvD en Marusha achter elkaar in de SEZ. Gratis, net als Loveradio. De SEZ (Oostduits sportcentrum) had een indoor en outdoor area waarvan indoor in een zwembad plaatsvond. Erg vet, en zeer luid! De beste Dj was vreemd genoeg Marusha, wat draaide die goed zeg! Je hoort bijna niks meer van haar maar, maar ze speelde de beste tracks van de avond. Tijdens een wandeling naar de bratwurst stand kwam ik Westbam tegen met zijn kleine zoontje. Westbam was heel anders als achter de draaitafel. Niks badass, nee heel erg aardig en attent. Na een kort praatje effe snel een foto gemaakt voor het nagelacht. De pic met Westbam en kind geeft de sfeer op dit feest erg goed weer: relaxed en zeer vriendelijk. Stiekem toch wel de leukste party van het weekend! Overigens kwam ik HB-tje tegen bij PvD in de SEZ. Kon niet missen: ML shirt en rugzak, met camera. Ik had al een vermoeden dat hij het was maar wist niet hoe hij er precies uit zag. Na het feest met Mikey Mike en HB-tje naar Shrek2 geweest op de Potsdammer Platz. HB is nu ook aan Doner Kebab verslaafd hihi Maandagmiddag terug, 169 fotos geupload. Sorry voor de wat schokkerige stijl maar ik ben een beetje dood. De nodige verbeteringen volgen later... ps: dank aan iedereen, en hopelijk heeft men het net zo naar z'n zin gehad
