The way i see it is that its a lose-lose situation for the new GM. No matter how you look at it Carter is a top 10 player/scorer in the NBA. Trading him for an old Mutombo and and young and inexperienced Howard would make a lot of people mad. On the other hand he is always hurt and the flash in his game back when he was a rookie/2nd year is long gone. So people will also question the GM for not trading him. Its a tough situation for the guy and i feel for him. All that in the first 3 weeks of work.

Then again trading star players is always hard and its tough to get enough talent back to make up for whats lost i.e. Shaq

Personally i don't think they'll trade Carter. He's the only player that still draws a crowd in toronto. Hopefully Alston can step in a contribute right away. I'm excited about that and still have hope deep inside that Vince gets his old self back. Unlikely but it doesn't hurt to have hope.

I guess the GM said last night that these were just rumors and that they want Carter to be a big part of this franchise.
