Went there many moons ago for 2 weeks & stayed @ the Cancun Plaza which was the cheapest BUT comfy hotel...Funny thing was that our hotel was blasting tunes at poolside the whole time we we're there ...The first club we hit that nite was LA BOOM and that was an awesome venue...It was like the Guv BUT better...I barelly got ANY sleep the whole time I was there too and so I was actually wanting to come home after 10 days...2 weeks was WAY too long to party...

Cancun is awesome!, I was there at the end of May, so much fun, I got sick of corona by the 3rd day, try the strawberry darquaris, they are soo good sittin in the pool

I’ve never been to Cancun (actually, I’ve never been more south than New York state), but I’m at work and I was bored. Good luck with your trip… just too bad you have to bring the girlfriend along.

thanks for the tips buddy!!!...yeh i have a tendency of researching stuff i have no relation to either if i'm just sitting around bored hehe...actually i think that top 10 list is great! you know why? cause its not top 40 shit that i was expecting i'd have to hear at every club while i was down there. looks like some good house music on that list!!! i know what you mean with the gf thing when its like a freakin striptease down there haha...but i know i'll have tons of fun down there, and since shes really hot, thats good enough for me!!!

You need to check out "The City", it is one of the best clubs that I have ever been to. It's brand new and just opened in March. :P

They don't play trance everynight and we actually ended up going twice, and the second time we caught a bit of everything (hiphop, trance, Mexican music ) So if you have a club guide (usually one at every resort) they'll let you know what kind of music is going on for a specific night. Have an amazing time! I wish I was going back

cancun is pretty good, but i didnt find any "techno" clubs

i walked in Daddy-Os a few times, heard some beats..but that didnt last too long, its mostly top-40, rap/rnb, and the occasional gino anthem...but lets face it, thats not the reason why people go there, its all about the drunken wimmin

Cancun, I absolutely LOVE cancun!! The best place I've been to party or relax or both.
I was there in February and stayed in a resort closed to La Boom, we could just walk to it in 5mins, we could also walk to the downtown where all the other clubs are such as Coco Bongos and The City, which opened the weekend we were there, so we went on the opening night, they were still building stuff behind the club, which I supposed they finished by now. Those 3 clubs rock!!! They are the biggest I went to there, also went to Fat Tuesdays and Señor Frogs, which are good clubs too, what I liked about Fat tuesdays was that you can party outside right by the beach, which is great but it gets a bit too packed there (spring break)

Well you are gonna have tons of fun! and if it helps to know....I'm so jealous!!

I've been to Cancun twice...both during Spring Break...and was actually there for one of PVD's shows in 2002 at La Boom...absolutely incredible time...still have the poster in my room. The ice cannons at Dady-O's and La Boom are to die for. Hot, sweaty, pounding dancefloor completely obliterated by a rush of cold air...It has to be experienced to be believed. Only other place I've seen the cannons is Amnesia in Ibiza.

P.S. When I was there, both Dady-O's and La Boom played nothing but EDM from 2 onward....clubs didn't close until like 6.

i've been to cancun 4 times, and 3 times the week you're going - last week of august!



it's a great time, lots of people (mostly toronto though) but the clubs are insane.. when we were there Jimmy Van M & Chris Fortier played laboom, but that was during the gay/lesbian/tranny night so we decided against it..



Daddyo's plays alot of tribal house monday's and alot of trance on friday's... laboom not so much, its more cheesed out now..


if you feel safe doing this, talk to some cabbie's or younger waiters at the hotels.. they always have crazy beach raves that play alot of psy trance (well that's all they play at the raves) that i've heard are amazing..


Alot of my friend's are going there again this year, i was supposed to go but can't get the time off work... i've also heard many good things about your hotel... if you need anymore help pm me or add me on msn... i like to consider myself a cancun expert especially that time of the year you're going!
