^ Agreed. I covered the synth just to see how close I could get, little practice never hurt nobody, but I would never use a sound like this because its usually very characteristic of a certain producer.

Not identical, but very similar. Maybe lackin a high freq LFO like state did.

I agree with soundrush that this shouldnt be used.
But the basics of the sound can be tweaked into something else, and besides, its aways useful to recreate stuff, this helps ppl gettin the hang of which process leads to which kind of sounds, this knowledge is useful when u try to do your own sound.
Its hard to create your own shape on a rock when u dun know what exactly each hammer does and how ppl uses. Kinda sucky comparsion, but i guess u get the ideia, lol

of course, practicing is always good and i guess there are basic trance sounds every producer uses on and off.
anyway, trance got harmed by this guise abit.

i feel that there is a subtle filterd, voice/choir on the pads, with lots of reverb..and maybe a tiny chorus.

Gotta love these threads

Without actually giving the 'secret' away, I will tell you that the sound is not distorted nor does it utilize the saw waveform, and before I forget, the right tool for this job is a Nord Lead.

my guess would be that the dirtyness in the sound that everyone think is distortion rather is an lfo with a very high rate

but that's just my five cents

gave it a shot myself:

http://vizay.mine.nu/music/vizay/vi...blimesample.mp3

I didn't get as close as I wanted but I can imagine that it would be easier to get the exact same sound on the nordlead...it has a much softer sound then the subtractor.

anyway this is done completly without distortion on the reason subtractor
the only external effects I used was one EQ, filter, delay and Reverb

all I did was using one square and one triangle waveform and then I used the two lfo's to get the sound where I wanted it...

the lfo1 is set to affect FM and it's using the last one of the selectable waveforms.

the lfo2 is set to affect the phase

when you've set both waveform all you have to do is tweak the rates and ammounts on them

Following Vizay and DC- instructions... i came up with this

A single synth instance, only filtered, delayed and reverbed. 95 % accurate IMO
