Yeah, well therein lies the rub, eh... because when you speed up breaks by 30-40 BPM (approx.), you do get Drum 'n' Bass. Hilarity ensues! At the tempo of 200 BPM, of course things are going to be hectic... although you could layer a mellow melody going half at speed on top and it'd still count based on the note divisions of the drums whizzing by like bullets and going ch-ch-ch...

Is there such thing as Happy Noisecore? I know there's healing noise therapy for those with hearing loss, but this is something else maybe?

It's actually amusing to play 33RPM breaks records on 45 every once in a while. For fun I made a "Crazy Fake Jungle Extravaganza" Cd, but I wouldn't do it live. Funny to hear "For an Angel" and "Heaven Scent" in d&b/jungle tempo though.

everyone defines "good" music slightly different, don't you think?

anyway, I kinda like fast early Hardcore things like:

Buzz Fuzz - Party ??? [205 BPM]
DJ Gizmo - End Of The Beginning (Rockit Remix) [205 BPM]
50% of The Dreamteam - The Thundertheme [210 BPM]
Da Hellweazle - The 2nd War In Heaven [220 BPM]

good bangin shit

The way I look at it, playing the music has to be fun. It has to be taken seriously, but to a certain limit. I want to come up with all sorts of joke titles for good cd's. For example, my friend and I made a progressive tag set called "Sockdrawer and Dickweed - Southern Exposures - Journeys". Not intended to knock on Sasha and Digweed at all, but, in my mind, pretty funny. Southern Exposures works on so many levels.
