i figured out why soccer wont hit it as big here as it would in europe... it all comes down to american greed, in other words $

you see to cover a soccer game by someone such as NBC, CBS, ABC, or FOX would be a financel disaster. think about it, the clock in soccer never stops except for halftime and maybe injuries... either way this means that in most cases the channel would have to go a bit over 45 without commercials, and once they hit half time they only get a little time for commercials cause they still have to due the half game analysis. then back for another 45 minutes of straight air time. see where im getting at?

well at least thats my theory.

i agree with you on this one , baseball , football , hockey , basketball they have a lot of commercial pauses

you guys honestly dont understand tho...im a big soccer fan and soocer player.... my brother was pro in canada and was asked to train in a club team in italy.....u odnt understand why we suck in Canada at soccer..ill tell you...nobody wants to invest the money into making a half decent soccer league..we have no stadiums for soccer nothing....this is why i was toally wishing that the olympics came to canada..this would force them to put money into the game...they would have to build new fields new stadiums and after that it could just might kick off a new and half decent league..lets face it when u play soccer in Canda ur not going anywhere...look at our national teams Goalie....hes amazing one of the best but he will never get the recognition because hes with Canada...we need a league...we need money invested....my brother was very lucky he never went to Italy....he was one of the best in Ontario and was asked to go train in Italy...he said no #1 because the game after he messed his knee up killing his whole career and #2 over 1 thousand ppl were going only 3 spots were open on the team....tese thousand ppl were coming from everywhere across the world and it was a 2 year try out....my brother didnt want to miss school...and this is also off topic but i wanna show u what teams look for.....when my brother was asked my dad had taken a trip down to italy to have a meeting with the coach....first thing the coach asked was how fast does ur son do the 100 meters in...my dad told him low 12's i dont remember the exact time it was either low 12's or high 11's...anyways my dad then asked dont u care abt his ball control and skills? the coach replied no we dont every trick in the game can be taught in less then 6 months he has to have some skill but we can teach him everything....speed is something u cant teach he said
