i don't think Reals reputation is lower just becouse they didn't win the Spanish League last year. If Real really wants Viera they'll get him. Who would say no to play with those team mates?

With Viera move to Madrid looking certain (not 100%) you can bet on the media to stir up the gerrard link once again! After all there is no-one else in his league so prepare yourself for more bollocks from the gutter press

We've been getting the same with Shearer. Some Italian Serie B leaked quotes to the media saying that they had agreed terms with Shearer and the media took it seriously. Even when their manager said that he was joking the London media couldn't resist carrying on with the story. Then when that one died a death they took some quotes from Martin O'Neill saying that he wanted an experienced striker to mean that he was after Shearer, even though his name had never been mentioned. That one took a few weeks to die down, although the media here in Newcastle didn't even bother printing it. Now they say that newly promoted Spanish side Levante want him. It's ridiculous. And they're continuing where they left off last year saying that our club is rife with internal trouble, the stories doing the rounds now about Bobby and Freddy are made up of quotes I read months ago pasted together with quotes from weeks ago to try and put a story together and stir trouble. They even claimed we were listening to offers of 1M for Robert! Meanwhile the club were actually offering him a new contract.

Crystal Palace have beaten the transfer deadline to pull of a major transfer coup after landing Nicola Ventola and Gonzalo Sorondo from Internazionale.
The Eagles have been looking to bolster their squad in the last few weeks and opened talks with Inter earlier this month.
Palace's initial interest was in Sorondo and his fellow South American Kily Gonzalez.
The Argentine rejected the move, but manager Iain Dowie then switched his attentions to Nicola Ventola - as reported on skysports.com.
Both forward Ventola and defender Sorondo have now agreed season-long loan deals at Selhurst Park.
Inter have also confirmed the departures of Sabri Lamouchi (to Genoa) and Ianis Zicu (to Parma).
The Italian giants have also handed a new contract to defender Carlos Alberto Gamarra, after they failed to land Cesar from Lazio.
Ventola could prove to be a rater good signing, i reckon he can get a few goals for Palace. Ive never actually heard of the other player so we'll see what tey both have to offer in the premiership.

Why hasnt any big club signed joaquin yet?? Manchester United and Real Madrid were both after him last year and in my opinion, the lad is nothig short of class even though he has seen a dip in form lately ... aye ya fukin scousers with all the comments about needing a right winger i think this guy is the perfect candidate(unless united decide to pick him up in jan) .. then you may go fornicate yourselves with an iron shovel

Title may be beyond us already - Rooney
Manchester United new-boy Wayne Rooney admits he might not end his first season at Old Trafford with a championship medal.
The 18-year-old, who completed his £27m move to United on Tuesday, is relishing the prospect of contesting the major honours with his new club as they renew their battle with champions Arsenal and big-spending Chelsea.
However, he has hinted that, after a start to the season which sees United ninth in the table and seven points adrift of the top two already, the title might be beyond them already.
"We've got some good young players at the club and providing we can all grow together in the team, I think we'll eventually come good again,'' Rooney told the club's official website.
"It's a big challenge for us and we might not win the league this season; it might take two or three years. But I really think we're capable of matching both Arsenal and Chelsea.''
Yeah, thats what you use usually say when you join a new club. Shows rooney has alot of confidence in his new team.
