because these people u see the so called "tree huggers" take the activist approach..they have appointed leaders that do what ur talking about and attend mature talks with appointed officials..the tree hugger activist are their chips, its like a poker game...read a book

The thing I don't like about hippies is that it's impossible to have an intelligent conversation with them (or even when one of them is within earshot). They typically don't educate themselves very well on the issues they so passionately rant about, preferring glittering generalities and slogans. Even when they do know a lot of facts surrounding the issue, they rarely put them together into coherent arguments. Instead, they use them as fuel for mud-slinging contests.

Some hippies are good for society, but I might agree that we have too many of them that are all talk and no action.
