I was the same as you in that I wasn't that crazy about going over to CD. I bought myself a single CDJ1000mk2 and although I hate to admit it - I am a convert.
I will never completely move over to CD but I will get another CDJ1000mk2 and I can see myself using CD's more and more.
With regard to you seeing the use of the jog wheel as a pitch bend function asarduous - I have no idea what you mean. Pushing or pulling a wheel isnt hard at all and after a while it becomes second nature and is incredibly accurate.
I have used the cmx 3000 and it is a piece of quality but the CDJ's are so much more versatile. Like Scott said you have the added benefit of the memory card allowing you to easily use other peoples gear while retaining all your cue points and hot cue memories. Scanning is easy - just hold the forward or back scan buttona dn move the p[latter in the corresponding direction and you will fly though the track.
With the extra finances you say you have I would definitely go for a pair of CDJ's - or at least one to start off with alongside a pair of turntables.
However - each DJ has his own style and preference of what the use in equipment. Get yourself a budget and go to a store and get them to set everything up for you so you can make an educated decision.
Good luck and have fun with whatever you get.
