Before my Mackies, I was using, believe it or not, 50 dollar Yamaha PC speakers I've had for 7 years. I know, I know... So of course there was a giant improvement in sound. Some of you may have newer kick ass PC speakers so you may just be fine with those but for me, going from shitty 7 year old speakers to my Mackies was like night and day. Now I can hear every little detail and the sound is so loud and powerful. My productions shortly thereafter started to sound better because finally I could hear WTF I was doing.
