I still find the Ricky Williams issue funny as heck. See Ricky Williams is unlike most of the running backs in the NFL, he is actually smart. Every interview I've seen with Ricky shows me that the guy is smarter than most but this decision was stupid. See I can understand if you want to walk away from the game at 27, I mean Barry Sanders was one of the greatest and yet he walked away from the game at 31 because he could not stand the grind anymore. NFL is a brutal game that takes a tremendous physical and emotional toll. Players practice then spend hrs watching game film, it does'nt leave much time for other things but you are getting paid a king's ransom to play a sport. I think that Ricky Williams should have told his teammates before his decision because that's not being a team, leaving them high and dry. Miami was heading down the toilet anyway, they have a great defence but their offense was in shambles even with ricky. Some argue that since weed is a banned substance for NFLers and that Ricky was near his next test and that since he had already violated the policy, would have got 4 games suspension (no pay) that maybe he wanted to pack it in. He may have wanted an out from Miami, I do see him playing for the raiders in 2005. I doubt he would leave the game, too much money to be made.

yeah. but i never understood why ANYONE with alot of athletic ability would play football over baseball, in america. baseball is so much easier on your body (except that you play 162 games, not 16). but they also make sooooo much more money. but... i guess this is a discussion for another thread.

an arbitrator just ruled that Ricky Williams has to pay $8.6 million to the Dolphins for breaking his contract. Williams stated that he would file for bankruptcy if they tried to collect it.
