I know I can get TT-200's for vinyl which would be cheaper to start off but then you have to buy vinyl and I know I can get any songs off the internet.. but idk.

how are you suppose to learn to DJ anyways

stop!!!

Put your wallet back in your pocket. Take a couple of CDs full of the type of music you're interested in spinning. Go back to Guitar Center and ask the salesperson to give you a quick overview of the basics. Spend lots of time there. Play with all of the equipment - from the most expensive to the entry level. Make notes of what features you like and dislike. Hit the manufacturer websites and read up on what you missed. Go back to Guitar Center and try those features. Spend lots of time playing with everything. Come back here and ask questions. Keep saving your $.

CD's are a steeper initial investment (good CD turntables like Pioneer CDJ-800's or CDJ-1000's) are pretty expensive (the 800's are $700-800 each, and the 1000's are about a grand each), but let me tell you, records are as addictive as crack and twice as expensive. If you get vinyl TT's be prepared to be spending every penny you earn on that wax. CD's are only about $1-2 each, as opposed to $10 a pop for records.

really just save up and get techs straight off the bat.
i just completed my setup
2x cdj 100s, vestax pmc170a, 2 mk5s w/ Whitelabels and hd 280s

ill probably upgrade my mixer after i get outta debt to my parents 400$ for one of the techs..

its taken me about 3yrs, worked only once last summer to get to my setup. my regrets was that i bought American DJ pro dj3 cdplayers when i should have bought cdj 100s off the bat.
for the cans i had sony mdr v500s which were o.k. until i got my hd 280s which own them.

just save up and get used off ebay, just shop carefully.
