Some may believe a rant like mine or a website like the one i posted is a lost cause. Well, to be honest, maybe it is. Who knows. The real point is, in our two free countries, we all like to have our say. And I simply stated what I believe, and posted the website along with it. I'm not a "religious zealot" Where in my post did I make it known that I'm religious at all? Whatever..big thing with this particular post, is that people are forgetting that this is a forum to voice your opinion and debate about it, not gang up on the Canadian guy and rip him up.

Blame Canada!!!

But seriously, folks...

I don't think anybody cares if you're Canadian. Besides, there are plenty of other Canadians on this board I'd rather flame than you!

Muuahahahahaa!!

It's like I said, IT DOES MATTER what WE THINK. Because since that idiot got elected down there, he's done nothing but fight wars and completely forget his own country and fuck us over in big ways. Don't get us wrong. Canadians don't hate you for it. We're actually rooting for you and cheering you on to make the right choice this November. This is actually far more serious than people realize.

I can't believe you still don't understand that it was a joke. You said this:

After saying that, I felt obligated to be the first one to say I was offended, so I said this:

I figured you'd probably figure it out, especially since the criticism you were expecting to take would come from Bush lovers.

You need to chill out.

Well, if you were kidding, i didn't see it. It's just hard to see sarcasm on the net, especially when a lot of people really are so politically critical. And don't worry 'bout me. I'm not a crazy anti-american guy that some may think I am. All i wanted to just have an interesting debate about the subject. Sometimes people can detect something like critisism or sarcasm and other times they can't.

If you don't pay taxes in my country then you have no right to vote in it. I don't care what Canadians think. I pay my taxes and I should be able to elect a representative to handle where and how my taxes are spent.

If you don't live under the law in my country then you have no right to vote in it. I don't care what Canadians think. I live under the laws governing this nation and I should be able to fairly elect who represents me to make those laws and abolish them.

If you don't like how American's foreign policy effects your country then YOU need to elect a government in your country that is capable of negotiating changes with the American government and if that still doesn't make the change you desire then YOUR government needs to spend YOUR tax money on an army to try and force change upon my country (haha good luck).

Also, Bush was fairly elected according to the electorial college system. Saying otherwise is just ignorance.

This thread is so funny, you Canadians are so confused.

You are not paying Iraqi taxes and are not under Iraqi law, yet you support your government in going to war replacing another government becuase they think its right to do so and INSTALL thier own puppet government officials.

How come its not okay for canadians to have a say in your government when you can have a say in other nation's governments?

Hypocrite.

While I actually agree with you on the hypocricy statement I'd like to defend what you are referring to as "Puppet government officials." I'd say the U.S. has been rather eager and aggressive to give as much control back to Iraqis as quickly as possible. The Interim Governing Council was obviously a U.S. created body, but the new one, while still closely allied with U.S., is much more independent than the previous one. And I'd say that if history is any indicator thus far(Sovereignty handed over a day early), the Iraqis will be holding independent elections in the coming months. That's not a puppet government, Cyrus.

To which I'll add another compliment to the current administration. Dubya said that direct elections in Iraq would be in place before the end of 2004. To me that indicates that whether he is elected or not, he means to get the job done.

This is true but what is also true is that the Electoral College should have been abolished many many years ago. It was set up to protect citizens from their own illiteracy and lack of education. While some may argue that lack of education is still an issue but I would strongly disagree with that statement. Those that vote have the right to their decision and there should not be any governing body in the way to filter or second-guess that choice.

Bush should not be in office according to what the people wanted. That was proven from the polls taken in Florida after the election was over. The hanging Chad. Does anyone remember that?
