For many years I've felt this tune is the most well-thoughtout and complex tune I've heard. The structure of the tune is really unusual, there are lots of layers and unpredictable twists.

Yeah...

And he appears to be such a nice, friendly guy too! That counts for a lot in my book... it's funny because he can come off like a surfer dude but when he talks tech, you know he's got game. He has a really generous attitude and he likes to share his wisdom with others.

If not just limited to trance, I'd have to name a lot of the hardcore coders involved with IDM/Braindance under this category. The microediting and minisequencing and all that shiznit involved is so labor intensive. Doesn't necessarily make for enjoyable listening though. Some -- a lot -- of that stuff, for me, is like "Hmmm this is interesting... to read about..." Of course, here come better programs to automate a lot of the functions and make it sound like you did a lot of work when in fact you clicked a button. Hee hee...

But what I like about BT is, even with the stutter edits, I can still hum the catchy melody! It isn't some rampant DSP-ops slugfest.

Simon Posford has definitely done some complex work in his own unique directions.

I think Tiesto did also many quality tracks! Example: "Forever Today" and "A Tear in the Open"

Oh BTW, I believe Andy Gray had a big hand in this too

Not to be confused with Andy Page, who is renowned for his technical talents and who is connected to several of the aforementioned.

Can someone please point me to more of Simon Posford's technical accomplishments? I'd like to find out more because interviews with him that I've found haven't been terribly insightful in this department. Thanks!
