Sarah Mixington

What was only supposed to be a quiet night out in the summer of 2001 quickly became much more for Sarah Mixington. Listening to circuit house and trance at the time, Sarah was easily converted to a techno fan when she found herself at Turbo Nightclub for a Misstress Barbara gig. Mesmerized by the 4/4 beat, the percussion and the speeding high hats that Barbara was laying down, Sarah went home amazed and wondering what had just occurred.

It didn?t take long for her to realize that listening to techno was not enough - only DJing could completely satisfy her need for the funky techno sound she had grown to love. In November of 2002 she picked up her first set of decks and by August of 2003 she was playing at System Soundbar and for Uber Industries (London). Since then, she has played at The Docks for Toronto?s Pride Ball, Babylon Martini Bar, Element Bar, Labyrinth Lounge and has appeared on various local radio shows, including 1groove radio and CIUT?s ?die maschine? show. Sarah was also first runner up at the Guvernment semi-finals of Heineken?s ?Found@Thirst? DJ competition.

Sarah?s style can best be described as fun, funky dancefloor techno, combining tribal and vocals into her sets. ?My sets are high energy and fast paced. I don?t break to have a cigarette between mixes! I don?t play lounge music at my gigs because I don?t want people lounging. I want them dancing!? she says. And they won?t be the only ones dancing - most of the time you?ll see Sarah leading her dance pack from behind the decks. Wherever she is, whatever she?s doing, she?s probably doing it with a smile on her face and a drink in her hand. This girl?s ready to party!

Jeff Payne

Born in Montreal, Canada in 1977, Jeff made his way to Toronto in the fall of 1996 to attend school. A couple of years later, after moving into the downtown core, he attended his first rave at the Ontario Science Center in order to make some sense of the music he was hearing on late night college radio. This was to be his first real introduction to the electronic music community. Needless to say he was hooked. Since that time, Jeff’s devotion to electronic music has really taken a hold of everything he does.
Over the course of five years, Jeff has developed his skills behind the decks playing at countless parties in and around Toronto and held weekly residencies at Cream Nightclub, and while on vacation for a few months, at The Eldorado Lounge in Fernie, B.C. Jeff has also had the privilege of playing at many of Toronto’s top clubs including; System Soundbar, Madbar, Element and Red Square.
Jeff’s style focuses on the harder and deeper aspects of techno. However, don’t let this fool you! His main focus is to see your butt on the dance floor, which is why he keeps the music full of flavor and packed with funky bass lines. His influences include renowned artists such as Speedy J and Adam Beyer as well as local legends Kenny Glasgow and Greg Gow.
