What's truly pathetic is your inability to comprehend that there is a fucking political forum on this board, and yet you choose to post 5 different threads on the first page itself that have absolutely nothing to do with the Toronto music scene.

You fucking running for office or something ? If you aren't you should consider it. Talk about saying the same thing over and over again. God. Give us all a break and go make some sandwiches or something...

What are their reasons for banning them? Banning ice cream trucks is completely lame. Some of our fondest childhood memories are of chasing after the ice cream man.

Mind you, I was pulling out of a neighborhood the other night, when I suddenly heard this loud blaring carnival music, that nearly gave me a heart attack. Turns out it was an ice cream truck. Now, i did not grow up in Canada, but back in Maryland, we did not have such loud, startling music like that. I dunno if that's a Canadian thing, or a modern addition.

If its the music that's causing the problem, make the trucks change it back to a ringing bell, but don't ban them.

they also say that it is highways they are banning them from. not streets.

damn straight ban them from the larger streets, they cause a commotion and kids could get hurt.

Oh whoops! highways.... ya, I think it is common sense not to stop on a highway unless of an emergency.

nevermind.

ICE CREAM VENDORS TO RECEIVE FROSTY TREATMENT ON HIGHWAYS

>> Source <<
quote:

Members of Council continue to receive complaints about ice cream trucks selling ice cream on City streets in residential neighbourhoods and are working with Peel Regional Police to have the vehicles removed. Now, vendors who are found selling ice cream on City highways will have their vehicles towed to a City works yard and the towing costs becoming a lien on the vehicle. City By-law 93-93 prohibits the sale of goods on highways.

While I understand the selling on the highway bit (what dumbass would do that??), I still don't understand the complaints?
Where the hell are they supposed to sell ice cream?
Commercials areas???
I will agree that;
a) the music is just way too damn loud; they could stand to turn that down a few notches and
b) ice cream trucks shouldn't be out after say...9pm? Anything after that would be pushing it in my books.

the legalese term for all roads whether they be streets, expressways or neighbourhood lanes is "highway" so this means ALL streets in the city of brampton, not just the 410 or hwy 7.

kytracid: that was straight from the city of brampton's website in full form. And yes they are banning them completely from city streets which means you may only park them in parking lots on private property.

As for the thread whiners.... all i can say is how many people respond to my threads or any other thread that is "off topic"?

You are just like those guys that come up to house djs and say "if u play hip hop me and my 4 friends will dance" and meanwhile there is a packed house dancing to whatever it is he's playing already.
