Exactly what I was going to say. You generalize about a country of 50 million people based on a case of 3 individuals. Besides, there are countless French tourists who went through Auswitz and if I recall correctly, this is the first time something like this happened. With that sort of logic, we can arrive to similar conclusions about the US. Wasn't there a mosque burned there right after 9-11? And there were some insulting grafitti written on a few others. Oh, well, I guess that every US citizen is an anti-muslim crusader then.
As for WW2 treatment of the Jews, I don't think there was a single country that liked them at the time. Britain itself had a pretty strong nazi movement which perished only thanks to Churchil's good leadership, and the US repeatedly refused to accept Jewish refugees, allowing only 250 000 to get in. The scandinavian countries were even worse, Sweden allowed about 10 000 Jews to get in, while in Norway about half were deported to German concentration camps. |
A more apt analogy might be for some American tourists to go to a Native American burial site or the location of some fierce battle/massacre and start harassing and mocking Native Americans. Which of course, hasn't happened and will not happen.
Do you really need me to post pages of pictures and stories from the last year of blatant and rabid Jew-hatred from Europe, or will you Euros finally admit you've a bit of a problem on your hands? Just saying "its a tiny minority, nothing to worry about" is NOT going to take care of the problem!

Whenever there is an anti-semetic attack, it makes international news...
But when an arab is beaten up or called a terrorist(and im sure that occurs WAY more often than someone calling a hebrew a "dirty jew")or a mosque is defaced, it barely makes the local news. |
Care to back up this assertion? From an article today about cemetary desecration in France:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...antisemitism_dc
Note the number of attacks against Jews (135 out of 230 total), and the number of Jews in the total French population (600,000 out of about 60 million, compared to 5 million Muslims).
I will look for the article, but also with similar population sizes in the US (around 5.5 million I think), there were 6 times more anti-Jewish incidents than anti-Muslim.
I don't mean to belittle anti-Muslim bigotry; hate is hate and needs to be eradicated. Desecrating Muslim graves is every bit as despicable as desecrating Jewish graves. But don't go talking out of your ass.

Sorry, i wasnt only being specific to france, i should have elaborated and included north america in my comments.
I have noticed quite a bit that the Jewsih community plays the sympathy card in almost every little thing that occurs. It is always reported to the media if something as minute as a comment is made about them and if the media doesnt report it, they have an "anti-semetic" agenda.
Im sure in your lovely America that arabs are facing just as much, if not more anti-semetic attacks too.
Even people that might look like them (Sikh's) have been tartetted. |
Heaven forbid we take it seriously, I mean its not like 2/3 of us were wiped out solely because of our lineage 60 years ago.
Some of us take "Never Again" seriously.
"Im sure in your lovely America...."
Once again, a foreigner given a grossly inaccurate (and unfavorable) impression of the US by a bias media in his home country. Do you get all your news from leftist websites, the CBC, and Globe and Mail? Why don't you read some actual statistics, or come live here. You'll realize it ain't so bad, even (especially?) for minorities.
