i'm for um. within the next few years alll cars will also be running on the 42 volt system as opposed to the current 12 volt system.

The electric cars will only be a success if they use non-fossil fuel to create the electricity which, in most cases, is not what's happening right now.

Otherwise the electronic car really defeats its purpose. You would buy your electric, or even hybrid car mainly because it is better for the environment, but by using electricity you would really be contributing the same amout of pollution, be it by using more electricity that was created with fossil fuels.

Dunno if that makes sense.

Anybody here from Nebraska/Kansas/Eastern CO? Lots of windmill pants out there, most GE. Creepy looking things, something out of a scary movie or something. Wouldnt want to live near them but theyre a good start...

Thats the problem with windmills. You need quite a lot of them, but obviously its very clean energy. There was a newsitem on the Dutch news the other day, saying that we only have 2% of our energy coming from windmills, which is odd since anyone who lives/has been to the netherlands will know it can get quite windy. Our problem is the 'not-in-my-backyard'-syndrome. Being such a small country there are few uninhabitated (sp?) places, and the few spots that are, we want to keep 'cause we have very few natural sites as well.

Proof that its not just a fancy idea that wind-energy can support a large share of the total energy of a country is Denmark, they get around 20% of their energy from wind.
