You're kidding right IMO Oakenfold will always be one of the best if not THE BEST trance dj that ever lived. If you dont believe me listen to his sets from the 98-2000 era (especially his EM Mix tour). Acosta shouldnt even be compared to Oakie. Oakie has done far more for trance than Acosta can even dream of accomplishing.

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. - Timothy Leary

Without trying to disagree, I have to say Oakenfold is not the best DJ out there. I have heard him live and he trainwrecked. I have heard him recorded and he accidently dropped a track in the middle of a set. He's human, he makes mistakes, but he is not the best. I would rank Paul van Dyk and Tiesto above him. Now I will agree that Acosta has no place even being mentioned with him. It's not the same ballpark.

Well yeah gotta agree there, that Jokenfold isn't #1 on my list, but he's definitely done a shitload for trance and I respect him for that. Acosta can suck my dick.

now that I feel ok here .. Acosta was one of the few dj's who show me the way to the trance side in 1999.. I can tell you for a multi - task dj as myself in amarillo and OKC I needed his tracks to crossover to hip hop and funk. I meet him in Dallas and he showed me how to beat mix better on Cdj's. I know he has fell off and he is stuck to mixes on a cox station in Florida but I still look up to him. BTw that staion is 93.1 in South Beach and Oakenfold is a resdinent on the sation and if you get the cookies right you can hear it live on the interenet
