Hehe, in the first paragraph I was thinking of US, not Israel. But since there are only 5 or so Israel-Palestine threads on the first page, we certainly need a boost in those. Come on, don't pretend that you don't like it!

So how come it was that the majority of the US population who did have access to free press managed to get convinced that it was Saddam who was behind the WTC attack, as well as that Iraq had WMDs capable of attacking targets on US and British soil? Care to explain that? How did they pose a threat to world security?
As for the US, they first supported Iranian revolutionaries hoping that the islamic revolution will spread through soviet owned muslim territories, then they supported the talibans against SSSR, then they supported Saddam against Iran, then they attacked Saddam after telling him that the US government will not interfere with their borderline dispute with Kuwait, then they ignored the taliban attrocities untill Bin Laden made the 9-11 attack, then they attacked the talibans, and finally, they wrongfully accused Iraq and occupied it.
In the meanwhile, during the US occupation of Iraq, there is a huge humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan, with potential casualties of about a million people. And unlike the US, France has sent their peacekeeping troops there.

It's a bit difficult to do that since Palestine is not yet a country with established borders, but if we consider the real border as the one from Camp David agreement, we can see that the wall often ventures into Palestinian territory, while it never goes to the opposite side of the border.

The UN had no possible means at its disposal to enforce a rightful distribution of goods. It was obvious that a large portion of the UN money will go to Saddam's hands, yet it was a necessary evil, considering that otherwise there would be hundreds of thousands of starved Iraqis. Out of 31 billion $ of humanitarian aid allocated to Iraq, Saddam managed to steal about 4 billion. The rest of the 27 billion still managed to get into the hands of the Iraqi people. The whole program extracted Iraqi oil worth about 65 billion $, in other words, the oil was sold at half price. Besides, would you care to check which country was the primary buyer of the cheap oil? If my memory serves me correctly, it was the US.

How is UNRWA responsible for that? The palestinians themselves chose to be perpetual refugees until the land they claim as theirs is given to them. The UNRWA only gives those people humanitarian aid.

I hardly believe such a sentence made it into the final declaration. Besides, Israel is building a wall around a large portion of its population. Since the word apartheid literally means something like seperatedness, it's a pretty good description of the situation.

Funny since it was the US who proposed forming such an organization in the first place. Besides, all the UN members are funding the organization, and I really do believe that the US is much better of being a member of the UN than being outside of it. If the US were to exit the UN, that would reinstate the cold war situation of a bipolar world with US+Israel on one side and the UN (probably led by EU, Russia and China) on the other.
