That's because the mechanics working on them are slow ******s. Have you ever watched the WRC series? Those mechanics can change a whole fucking gearbox, and replace the engine in 10 minutes

you guys don't get the point, its made complicated on purpose to discourage the average guy. Hence, he bring it to the dealership and they charge the big $$$

it took me 2 minutes to R&R the highs and lows per side on my old SATURN. one of the most reliable and easaiest to repair cars. Ask any tech who does general work. Repairs on a saturn will but high up on the favorite to work on. The jobs are cake. So far the worst i have seen and worked on are VWs.

ya, and they do that SAME car every day multiple times a day. Nascar techs can do a full engine rebuild in under 15 minutes. Same with Top Fuel drag techsm they do bottom end rebuilds at the track 3 times a day. you work on the same car every day, have teh tools preset and jobs preassigned. Shit gets done fast.
