I was at work, printing photos in the lab, and I was right in the middle of doing an enlargement, and the power went off ! All of the pictures inside the printing machine were stuck and ruined, there had to be about 200 photos in there, I was pissed !! Then we had to take apart the machine and rip them all out.

When I got home my dad was BBQ'ing everything he could find because he had just filled the freezer with groceries the day before. I remember him saying "I am going to feed this steak to a random dog, there is just so much food here ! Hey Linz, invite your friends over for dinner"....haha I dunno it was pretty funny at the time.

Everyone in my area has generators, because of the icestorm. So it wasn't much of a blackout here.

I was studying for a calculus exam that evening, which was susposed to happen early next morning. Holy SHIT - that blackout saved my ass, cause I would've been screwed if I had to take it that morning. That exam got rescheduled 5 days later.

Every single day before the rescheduled exam date, I studied my ass off morning-till-midnight to ensure that I would not fail it.

and that's my blackout story.

Thats enough out of you about that night.

On a side note, that was the first night one of my indoor cats was ever outside. My poor kitty was lost outside all night!!!!

I was starting to do a brake job on a TTC bus when EVERYTHING went dark in our shop...I knew right away that THIS blackout was severe since power failures in our shop rarelly occur...We basically just sat around outside & enjoyed watching the stars & loving the peace & quiet To this day we make sure that there are no A/C & lites left on in any of the management offices...We can't waste electricity as we all did in the past...

Today, the 16th, was the night Oakey spun at the Guv!!!

As for my blackout story, I was working at the Coca-Cola Canning plant in Weston when the power went out... They made us stay until 9pm that night but we ended up drinking gallons of pop that were stuck on the lines and gave out cans to motorists passing by!

The drive home was scary tho... Driving down the 400 at night with no lights, it felt like I was in the booneys or something!?

I remember seeing all the stars and even some shooting stars, wow, what a beautiful night that was... Oh yeah, numerous joints were smoked as well, the best session was near Sunnyside, blazing a fatty and looking at a DARK downtown from the shore
