This is illegal. Refurbs or remanufactured items must be clearly marked as such.
I doubt FutureShop/BestBuy sells refurbs or remanufactured items as new. |
I've worked retail/sales most of my life, and if it can be fixed in store then they can get away with not advertising it as refurbished... Items sent away to be fix by said professional then becomes a refurbed item... When fixed in store it must be sold at a discounted price, but reasons don't have to be stated... Of course I don't agree with pretty much anything stores de behind their walls...
As long as there are no extremly loose pices, and nothing looks broken you can always lie and say it has stopped working... Unless they can prove without a doubt that you yourself broke they are required by you warranty to fix it, unless the broken item/piece isn't covered under warranty... Which all that info should be stated somewhere in the warranted contract...
Now did you take it in and tell them your dropped it? If you did there are also ways around that...
Let me know if you want some more advice, I know most loop holes, mainly because I am retched with electronics, and they always want me to pay...lol
