I'm sorry, I didn't take the effort to read this whole thread. Just wanted to say: rock doesn't suck, neither does trance. It's just music, only a little bit different...

a couple of years ago(i think it was 1995), there was this compilation in Australia called "Techno sucks," it was advertised on TV and the cd involved heavy metal/rock and all that jimbo jumbo, though it didnt take offence to me, coz i was too young too like techno or trance back then. The narrator repetively kept on saying "techno sucks." I can't believe the code of conduct for adevertising/commericials allowed to insult a genre like that...
Techno or whatever electronica hasnt made any insult like that...
I just wish someday there's gonna be a compilation called "Heavy Metal sucks" filled with heaps of Gabber and hard trance.....or whatever......

Remembering this cd now, I feel anger towards rock,I just wanna find the narrator and shove a glow stick up his ass...lol
I've totally lost my respect for rock, it doesnt deserve to be a genre, if it uses these fucked up advertising techniques which disses are other genres.

personally i am 1 of the few ppl here who still enjoys a bit of rock..i view bands like silverchair as quality. nothing on trance..dont get me wrong but i like some rock..some is dreadful 2 tho..but i am getting a fairly large taste in music recently..i even like classical

hell yeah I love Classical...I love stuff from the Baroque age...

I also love old stuff like Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Gerry & the Pacemakers and the Pet Shop Boys...anything that doesnt insult another genre to gain an advantage.

for gods sakes she/he is just expressing her opinions, why does everyone have to get so offended and satrt a war! personally i hate rock as well! not just for the music but because rock fans are constantly dissing other genres i mean how many times do i have to put up with being called a 'townie' it really pisses me off! all these goth/rock greasers are sad losers with no life who don't appreciate other types of music because its not 'cool'! unfortuantly my friend went the opposite way to u, he was into trance ages ago he even wanted to make a tune with me agaes ago but now he hates dance and loves rock!

Man you are totally right.. In many tv talkshows I've seen, I see those fuc*ing rock "stars" diss trance all the time! few years ago there was a big concert here with many rock bands, under the name "no to techno"..!
some of you may disagree, but I think it's a FACT that most of rock music lovers are narrow minded people that hate elektronic music..
