its pretty unfair to say that he 'always' does it.
i said often, but obviously i was exagerating to be humorous.
I've heard I think 2 stories on here about it.

I went to a gig once where Sasha refused to get off the decks. We were standing on the stage with him and he adamently refused to quit spinning. They argued that they didn't have extra money to pay for the time and he laughed at them. He said "look out there...do you see that?! Those people are going insane. I would have to be crazy to stop now. I'm not crazy." It was weird. They kept explaining about needing to close for the employees and the police and he said "then you tell all of those people that they need to leave...that you are making me stop". They stood and stared at least 1000 people screaming and dancing and said "it's your show man...spin as long as you want". Funny shit. Sasha completely took control of that situation. Some people might think he was being a dick, but I don't. He gave the people a show. He spun for almost 6 hours and to this day it is one of the sickest sets I have ever heard.

Nope...not at all. He told them he was having a good time and didn't want to stop. He was booked for 4 hours and he spun for about 6 hours. He wanted to keep the vibe going. His set exploded after that. The owners of the club and the promoters were standing there with their mouths open. I have no idea what got into Sasha that night, but he blew me away.

Interested to know where and when this happened?
1999 - Jax. I have no clue what the name is/was because I am not from there. We were guests of Sasha's. I don't know him, but we share a mutual friend and he was the one invited that night.

1999..wow..that was back in the day
that was sasha in his prime. most have been unreal show.
tiesto once walked off stage for about ten minutes & left a really shit loop track on, during the time he was off there was loads of sound guys trying to fix whatever problem he had pointed out... he still never looked to0 happy & couldnt mix all the way through the rest of his really crap set... kept pointing to the monitors
but the djs before & after him had absolutely no problems
that happened in nyc also...
