Go to your local fabric shop...It will be wierd with all grannys looking at you...but, just get some 1 1/2 inch foam for stuffing.

You can spray paint them black or silver to make them look slick.
I use them and its amazing!!!!

Sorry dude...

Burn them, and kill anyone who tries to sell these to you. Shame on Tiesto for using them in his video. That is just shameless product placement aimed towards the less experienced. They are total toilet and shouldn't even be on the market. Biggest waste of money ever!!!

As stated earlier...
If you really need shock absorbers then get some tennis balls and cut them in half and place them under each corner under the deck. Be careful when cutting the tennis balls.

Cheers

hehe I never used them actually and I only saw them once, in a shop, but didn't pay much attention to them but by his question I thought he was looking for them, as as you said, they are being quite popular now, appearing in tiesto dvd, nature one, etc

I use carpet padding and it works great. lined my table with padding and then put speaker carpet over the padding for aesthetics.

i have never had anything skip on me.

just go to home depot or some store like that and get the thickest carpet padding they sell. they may even give you some scraps.

He he, don't worry man.
I know you were just being helpful. My problem is actually with the likes of Tiesto.
They are actually a bit of an enigma as I have never actually seen anyone that likes using them. Yet they are still going strong on the market.
I have never seen them in a club either as a DJ or clubber. Never.

Yeah I picked up a pair of the freefloats from guitar center... they had some promo so they were only like $10. It does help with bass feedback... I threw a party and had my tt's on the back deck and the vibrations were causing all sorts of feedback. Put the freefloats on and it took care of it. The bad: 1. tt's dont sit nice on them 2. its almost impossible to keep things level. 3. they just look plain stupid.

I prefer a simple sidewalk tile. Works like hell, keeps your tt balanced and doesn't look that stupid

I don't use them at home, not necessary. But there are constructions sold with a pavement tile also meant to stop feedback (though very expensive). I'll try to get a picture

Those are the ones I'm talking about, there's a tile below the framework that prevents feedback. It's hard to get a decent picture because I can't find shit about them.

i havnt tried this, but you may be able to use a tt case. throw it in there and the foam in the case should absorb alot of shock and vibrations.

BUMP!!

Instead of starting a new thread...

I threw a house party for New Years, and I usually have NO problem with skipping needles when my Setup is down stairs on carpet (cement floor underneath). But I moved it upstairs, still carpet floor (obviously wood framing underneath), and the moment people started dancing, so did the needle. and it strangely got progressively worse as the night went on.

Now I have T-balls already cut in half, and have tried them down stairs in my room and have never seen much of a difference. However I am wondering if they would have helped upstairs.

It just kinda confuses me when I watch Sensation and they are using these bloody orange pillows and the DJ is up on the table and dancing and running around and the needles don't skip. Yet everyone keeps bashing them.

Any recommendations? Should I try the T-balls next party I have, or try these things?. I read everyones posts that hate them, but like I said, when you see DJs jumping around on the same table as the TT's are sitting on without any skipping it makes me wonder.

To me my odyssey flight cases only make it worse. When i owned a road ready case i think the softer foam absorbed the sound better than the stiff hard foam found on odysseys. Just by having a deck in a odyssey case and resting the needle on a record i get feedback, but w/o the case my decks seems to work much better.

I would try the tennis ball trick, another thing you can try is to set a heavy piece of slate/flagstone under the decks, that should hopefully absorb any shock.
