Smoking ..umm..something FUNNY SHITE

I was a resident at this night club in toronto and by 1am I had a few beverages in me...Well I was jumpin and dancin during the mix and when I went to bring the slider down, (I wasnt using the crossfader) my hand was on the master volume!! The main speakers went quiet and the monitor was blaring!! I couldent tell the mains were off so I kept dancing and jumping till my partner came and turned the mains back up... I then went to the bar for another drink!! I think the 500 or so people in the club came and shook my hand afterwards. Yes I was embarrased!!

i'm a rookie so i haven't played in a club yet but the first house party i did.... well i was mixing into lost tribe's gamemaster and it was probably the first transition where i had beatmatched well. (i was playing for friends so they weren't too hard on me). but anyways i was all stoked cuz it was a good mix and i'm just dancing away behind the tables with my eyes closed. then when i open them everyone is just standing around staring at me. i figured it's cuz i'm dancing like a fiend and all but then i take my headphones off and realize that there's no music coming out of the speakers cuz i left the crossfader all the way to the 2 position when i was spinnin' gamemaster out of 1.

oh no! not the gamemaster! that's the best song ever!

Well, since I've only ever done one gig...

It wasn't exactly embarrassing (well, not for me, anyway) but some complete twat decided to lean over to look at the mixer or something, and spilt his beer all over the record I had cued up, ready to mix in, ooh, about 10 seconds time. BASTARD!! As you can imagine, I screamed at him, took the record off quickly and wiped it down, and slammed it back on and mixed it in quick before the last one ran out. Not the best mix ever, but under the circumstances I think it was pretty good.

He bought me a pint afterwards to apologise though, so it wasn't all bad.

well, we had a thread like this before, but anyway...nice stories so far.
Strange nobody mentioned taking the needle off the wrong record after the mix...that's always good for an embarassing moment
Another nice one happened in a club where they had a system that was WAAAY too large. They had no limiter and the master volume on the Pioneer mixer was only at 1.5 or 2 at the most. Well, after a mix I took off the (right) record and turned to my bag. While turning I somehow touched the master and turned it down all the way so the music was gone. Of course I wanted to bring it back as fast as possible so I slammed the master volume all the way up. It was SOO LOOOOUD, it blew everybody away. I quickly adjusted the volume, but everbody on the floor had their fingers in their ears
they, weren't mad, though...

And at Loveparade 2000, there was some stupid f**k who managed to knock the needle off my record twice in like 5 minutes...and it's always the DJ who takes the blame.

*makes a note to get some damn sturdy turntables, not get drunk, get a regulated power supply, and some shielded wires, and to be armed*

Did I miss anything?
