For sure, it's a great idea. Actually it's the first digital store i've seen do that. I love the fact that there are more places getting involved. The prices are really fair as well.

Personally I prefer to mix with vinyl but I hate the static noise you get with it! I buy mp3's for burning onto cdr for the car! Speaking to some people they can have say 7 digital downloads for the price of one vinyl! Burn them onto cdrs for pennies and mix using cd decks! Logical solution for the skint student types!

Digital age yes..
I was just asking why would anyone buy something that is not full (ie MP3,WMA or OGG which all are lossy audio compression formats).
If we really are in the "digital age", as you say, they should let us buy the "full" track (in lossless audio compression format).

Well compression rates are getting better by the day. By this next year, or maybe sooner, you will not hear any difference between the original wav file and mp3. In fact there are even some online stores that will burn the wav file to CD and send it to you if you don't like mp3. This is the wave of the future, get on while you still can.

are you going to offer your finished tracks to us in wav format or just the 'lossy' audio format?

sorry...i don't mean to get in on the mp3 argument...but really just out of curiousity. how do people expect to be able to tell the difference between a paid for download of say 192 and a dled illegally mp3 of 192? do they have a plan for combatting this? is there anyway to combat that?

Fair point but hear this! The track might not sound better in quality terms but it will sound better because you have bought the track and actually helped the labels and producers survive - they have to make a living too! Regards combating illegal downloading - I have no answer!

Rightly so, but there are too many people who refuse to buy a track on vinyl or cd because they have no use for it, if even 1 in 10 of the people who downloads a track does so from paying, then the artist at least starts to get something back for this, you don't see coca cola handing out free bottles because people suddenly decided that they didn't want to pay for it, but would accept it if it was free. Whilst it isn't a solution, at least it should go some way towards getting what the artist deserves.

I have no idea if the other digital download services offer this, but one thing I like is that it will let you hear the entire track (in 64k, but still...) instead of a 3-minute sample, as is common with traditional vinyl sites.
