When I go in knowing I'm gonna spend an hour in there, I like to warm up listening to some hiphop, then some breaks, then I dig into the crates and pick out all the discount records and find the gems.

In a record store, I will listen for about 2 minutes skipping through the main parts of the tracks and whatever remixes. If it's online then I will usually give the whole sample a listen before deciding whether or not to buy. I hate buying online - I always end up buying a ton on every order because I like so much of what I hear.
